Oct. 27th, 2011 12:03 amSo....here's my next big project! Not quite so ambitious as Lady Red Riding Hood, but still a big, elaborate project that I've dedicated the last day or so to so far.

This is a melanistic coyote that I got from
primaldog. She has all her feet and claws, and is a really nice hide overall. The leather is, yes, shiny gold!

More leather on the back, with the very start of the painting process. I've been trying out paint pens for the first time, acrylics and oils. I much prefer the acrylics. The disk that the scarab-to-be is holding is red scrap leather, and looks much nicer than the picture would indicate. It's only taped on for the moment in these pics; I'll glue it on permanently when everything else is done.

Several hours (and a bit of cursing) later, the painting on the back pieces is done! Yes, those hieroglyphics DO say something!
Going to try to finish up the project tonight, and hopefully pictures tomorrow! Oh, what is it? You'll just have to wait to find out ;)
