It's artwork update time, kids! You KNOW you're thrilled! This is an all-tails update; I made a whole bunch for Faerie Worlds, and it ended up being overkill, so here's what's left over.

So--I want to make a quick note about my tails. Sure, you can get them elsewhere, but a lot of sources just snap a cheap, unattractive metal keychain or ball chain on the end of the tail and call it done. Not so with these. Instead, I offer three different handmade attachment options.

The braided belt is my oldest style, which I've been using for over a decade. It's designed to be stronger and more long-lived than a simple single leather strap which can wear out and snap over time. (It's also more attractive, I think.)

There's also the belt loop, which smcinpdx suggested for people who want something simpler--to add to a costume, for example. It's also braided for strength and aesthetics, and like the belt is made from recycled leather and hand-stitched on.

Finally, there's the carabiner, which was my compromise for people who want a quick-clip tail. The carabiner is stronger than a keychain, and I hand-stitch leather onto the end of the tail before putting it on the carabiner. This helps to reinforce the fur; a ball chain will just tear through a plain tail with a good tug, and a keychain can also tear or lose its grip, especially as the hide weakens with age.

Yes, these take me more time to make than just bending the metal end of a keychain over the edge of the tail, but the greater investment of time not only lets me really create something, but it also allows me to speak with the spirit of the tail in the process of creation. I feel it's worth it. I get to make something beautiful with a more organic appearance, and this makes me much happier and connected with with the tails I create, even when I'm making a large number of them.

It's black, though some of the hair was sun-bleached to a dark brown, creating a neat two-toned appearance.
