*sigh* I respect that animal rights activists stick to their guns. I don't agree with everything they stand for, but I do respect it.

I just wish a small handful of them weren't convinced that coming over onto my turf and pissing their ideology all over it would make me change my wicked ways. I mean, I'm perplexed about that in the same way I'm confused about a small portion of Christians attempting to convert me even though been there, done that, got the confirmation and ten years as an acolyte.

(Please don't turn this into "Animal rights activists/Christians are all nutjobs and suck balls!" in the comments, 'k? This is not about whole groups, but about the behavior of a minority thereof.)

It's kind of a side thought, but, I believe in animal rights and I also believe in your work. What you do, you are not supporting the killing of animals. Animals are not being killed to make what you make. You are simply collecting what is left, from practices that I don't agree with, but, they are not your fault.

And, I prefer to see the parts saved and given a spiritual work, than thrown in a dirt pile and left to rot. They are dead now, and, few people would do anything for them at the end. So, I admire what you do, I love your work.

Other animal rights people might say, how can I support the use of a living being's corpse? Well, honestly I think it would be fine if we make human bone necklaces, if we did it with respect for the dead as you do your work, so, I'm not being a hypocrite. Again, it's just my view but when I am dead and my spirit has gone on, I rather my body be treated with a continuing respect, than left and forgotten. I would be honoured if anyone wanted a necklace of my bones, haha.

So, I don't see your work as not mixing with an animal rights supporting lifestyle from my own perspective, and, when I think about it, I become surprised that people do.

Just some thoughts I guess.

I hear where you are coming from. I honestly don't know why people feel the need to inject their particular brand of preachy-ness onto the rest of us as if we are so misguided and misinformed that we need saving from ourselves. I never saw being against cruelty to animals and being able to use animal skins, etc. in ways that honoured the spirit of that creature like you do as being diametrically opposed. The same goes for Christianity, or any other faith: Why is it necessary for everyone to have the same spiritual outlook? Maybe in either of the aforementioned cases, it is to make themselves feel better about their own choices.

It's puzzling.

I'm an animal lover and somewhat low-key activist and I must say I've never found any of your practices to be cruel or taking gain from an animal's death. I don't know if my interpretation is correct but I always took your practice of dancing in a skin as celebrating the animal that once lived in it, as well as the spirit of the animal itself i.e. dancing for the specific wolf that died and dancing for the general totemistic wolf spirit. I've always seen it as something to honour the animal/give it one last chance to dance.

Sure, I disagree with hunting an animal and then using its skin or head just for decoration, especially if the meat and bones are just discarded (if you use the entirety of the animal, that's different in my mind.) That animal had to die just so you could have a throw rug? I don't think so! But what you do is so different from those practices it seems almost laughable. Listening to what you have to say about it for five minutes demonstrates your motivations are respectful.

Sad thing is, there are nuts in every crowd and they always seem to be the loudest. Probably because the majority are getting on with living their own path and don't have time to worry that much about another's.

People who love animals really need to understand that we all aren't going to agree on a sum total One Right Way to coexist with our fellow creatures. I eat meat and am fine with hunting non-endangered animals, which other will greatly disagree on. I'm skeptical of zoos and don't like circuses with animal acts, while other animal lovers might decide to patron them.

The main point should be getting people to at least think and care about their choices...while coming to peace with the fact that their choices might not align perfectly with yours.

Sorry to hear about this. It's sad when political and/ or religious ideologies trump common sense. I wonder, are they thinking, "I know this artist will agree with me and change her ways. All I have to do is spew my opinions allover her site more." Simply not buying your products or simply sending you a polite well composed e mail about a specific product you may be selling that may have contributed in some way to the suffering of an animal just don't seem to be options, eh? That's really to bad.

Sorry to hear that there are people who feel this way. It's really not their decision if what you do fits within their narrow viewpoint.
